We recently had the pleasure of participating in an exciting event hosted by our friends at Homeboy Industries! Homeboy Industries is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supporting individuals who were formerly incarcerated or gang-involved. The organization provides fair wages, job training, skill development opportunities, and essential reentry services — all with hope and confidence for a second chance.
On Sept. 21, Homeboy hosted its 11th Annual Homeboy 5K Run/Walk in historic downtown Los Angeles. More than 3,000 people arrived to support Homeboy’s mission. It was a successful day filled with music, fun, and empowerment.
We are proud to be working with Homeboy Industries and to have had the opportunity to host a pop-up at the event. Through our collaboration totes, 50 percent of the purchase price is donated to Homeboy. We were so happy to see the support around these totes — our Homegirl Cafe tote was so popular that we sold out of the bags!
In addition to the totes, we brought along all our spa goods. Our bath bombs are handmade by individuals in Mississippi who have faced various hardships in life. The team consists of individuals recovering from addiction, individuals in reentry programs, people with disabilities, and survivors of domestic violence. Our soaking salts and sugar scrubs are hand-blended by young mothers building a bright future for themselves and their families in Chicago, Illinois.
Thank you to each and every one of our supporters. We are grateful to work with the kind-hearted team at Homeboy Industries and for all your support in making our partnership possible!
