We had the opportunity to interview Nodi, a mother and an artisan working with Basha, an inspiring social enterprise in Bangladesh. To hear more of Nodi’s story, keep reading below!

My name is Nodi Akter. I am married and we have a son who is now five years old. I feel proud to be a mother. As a mother I have many responsibilities. I love to take care of my son. I enjoy listening to his stories that he shares with me.

My life has been changed since I started working at Basha. I love sewing blankets. I don’t become tired of sewing. Now I am a quality checker at Basha. I become so happy when I finish checking a product properly. I have satisfaction knowing I did a good job. I am grateful that I had the training and support to do this work. My mentor encourages me every day.

Now I am providing for my family’s needs. I am also saving money for my son’s future. I dream that my son will be educated and get a good job. I want to teach my son to be independent and to love God. My son also teaches me many things. When I talk to him loudly, then he teaches me to talk softly. I am proud of my son. I believe he is a wonderful gift from God.
