In September of last year, The Little Market’s founders took a trip to Texas to meet with our Dallas-based artisan partner, GAIA.

GAIA supports and empowers marginalized refugee women from Congo, Burma, and Syria by providing them with job opportunities.

Lauren and Hannah worked closely with the women at GAIA to create exclusive and custom-designed products for The Little Market including pouches, handbags, and tassel keychains. GAIA aims to encourage the financial independence of the women who are in need of the employment; the organization trains these women to create different accessories from vintage textiles. The female artisans working at GAIA receive a living wage and training.
