What We’re Reading: Beach Reads Edition

Summer is the perfect time to read the books you’ve been hearing people rave about or discover a new favorite of your own. We’re especially loving these novels written by female authors. Read below to find out what books you should bring on your next beach trip!

1. “Sweetbitter” by Stephanie Danler

“Sweetbitter” chronicles the life of Tess, a 22-year-old who just moved to New York City and gets a job working at one of the city’s best restaurants. Experience an exciting “summer in the city” without leaving your favorite reading spot. P.S. If you love this book as much as we do, we recommend you check out the TV adaption as well!

2. “Heart Talk” by Cleo Wade

You know those great pick-me-up conversations with your best friends about life? Well this is pretty much that — but in book form. Our tip: Get the audiobook so that you can hear the narration by Cleo herself.

3. “The Female Persuasion” by Meg Wolitzer

Meg Wolitzer’s highly anticipated book does not disappoint. This novel follows a young woman named Greer as she navigates female friendship and mentorship. We love this book because of the way it tackles serious issues with authentic characters and humor.

4. “The Favorite Sister” by Jessica Knoll

If you love to read murder mysteries, this thriller is for you. We won’t give too much away, but it is a story about ambitious women who star on a reality TV show, “Goal Digger.” It involves a high-profile murder (think “Big Little Lies” meets “Real Housewives of New York City”). We recommend reading the novel before the anticipated movie comes out!

Happy reading! If you pick up any of these books this summer or have recommendations for us,  let us know in the comments below!
