On August 24, our co-founders Lauren Conrad and Hannah Skvarla hosted a lunch to celebrate Women’s Equality Day. Women’s Equality Day recognizes the passing of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which granted women within the United States the right to vote. We recognize the progress made for women around the world and acknowledge that there is more work to be done.
Fellow female founders attended the lunch and were able to connect with other businesswomen. No matter which field we’re in, we can learn so much from one another, support one another, and share advice from our own experiences.
Guests received information about each of the artisan-made items on at their place setting, including hand-etched glasses from Mexico, hand-woven napkins from India, handmade ceramic plates from Morocco, hand-sewn bags from Bangladesh, and hand-poured candles from the United States.
Laurel Gallucci, co-founder of Sweet Laurel Bakery, made some of her delicious cakes, which are grain-free and dairy-free (but don’t taste like it). We are so excited that she is opening her first brick- and-mortar store as well at the Palisades Village this September!
Each guest left with a gift bag filled with products from the other women’s brands.
Thank you to our fellow female founders for helping us work toward women’s equality every day!
