At The Little Market, our mission is to support dignified income opportunities for individuals in marginalized communities all over the world. A core part of that mission is to raise awareness for human rights and social justice issues. Here on Cultural Exchange, we share avenues in which our readers can use their voices to uplift others.

In July 2018, we joined forces with This is About Humanity, a mission-driven organization dedicated to raising awareness and funds for migrant families who have been separated at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Through our partnership, we created a special edition candle (hand-poured by women refugees in the United States) and PURPOSEfull TOTE (hand-sewn by women in rural Bangladeshi communities). Fifty percent of the purchase price is donated to the This is About Humanity Fund and International Community Foundation, which work closely to meet the needs of immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers who are affected by violence and instability in their home countries. The organization advocates for their human rights and safety while supporting housing, medical care, and on-the-ground relief efforts.

Thanks to your support and our wonderful partners, we have raised over $35,000 to date. Thank you for joining us and supporting our mission. To learn more about our partnership, read on here.

This July and September, we partnered with the incredible photographer Angela Koher and hosted portrait sessions in an effort to raise awareness for this humanitarian crisis. We thank everyone who is using their platform for the greater good.

We encourage you to join us in our efforts to end these heartbreaking family separations. Post your own photo with the PURPOSEfull TOTE, the candle, or the downloadable signs below, and tag @thelittlemarket and @thisisabouthumanity to help spread awareness.

Every purchase and post make a difference. Thank you for your support of This is About Humanity and for doing your part to reunite families and children.
